Fundraiser runs US beaches for The Royal Star & Garter Homes
A member of The Royal Star & Garter Homes’ fundraising team is running on an east coast beach in America to raise money for the veterans’ Charity.
Community Fundraiser Kevin Rudge will run along Jekyll Island in Georgia on Tuesday 18 September.
Money raised will go to UK charity The Royal Star & Garter Homes, which provides award-winning care for military veterans living with disability and dementia.
Kevin started his American running odyssey earlier this year, when he was seen running on beaches in Miami and Naples in Florida.
Kevin got involved with the Charity when his father moved into the Solihull Home in 2012.
He said: “My father went into the Home and spent the last year of his life there, where he received the most fantastic care imaginable. Not only was my father well looked after but the staff were also amazing to us all as a family, extremely supportive and understanding.”
Kevin went on to raise money for the Solihull Home as a fundraiser before working for the Charity.
Kevin said: “This year the Solihull Home celebrates its 10thbirthday and I would like to raise money to give something back to this wonderful home and help it continue to offer the high level specialist care to our veterans and their partners.”
