Birmingham International Tattoo raises £101,000 for Solihull Home
Birmingham International Tattoo, Britain’s biggest annual indoor military event, has reached a magnificent total of £101,000 for local veterans’ charity, The Royal Star & Garter Homes. The event, which features over 1,250 performers from across the Services, has been supporting the Charity for the past ten years. All money raised goes towards providing award-winning specialist care for veterans and their partners living with disability or dementia at the Charity’s Solihull Home, located only a few miles from where the Tattoo is held each year.
Birmingham International Tattoo Producer, Norman Rogerson MBE, commented, “Once again we are pleased to have been able to help raise funds for The Royal Star & Garter Homes at the Birmingham International Tattoo. It is particularly rewarding that we have now raised over £100,000 for this worthy cause who do fantastic work supporting our veterans in the West Midlands and at their other homes.”
The Charity’s Chief Executive, Andy Cole, who addressed the Tattoo audience, was delighted with the results, “We are extremely grateful to the organisers, the audiences and the volunteers at the Birmingham International Tattoo who have supported us so generously through the years to bring the total raised for the disabled veterans at The Royal Star & Garter Homes to a magnificent £101,000. Every penny makes a difference to the well-being of the residents in our Solihull Home. We are proud to be a part of this military community.”
