What benefits does respite care offer?

Taking a break from the usual routine can be refreshing for both those caring for a loved one, and more importantly for the loved one too.

Whether it’s to recuperate from an illness or to give a carer a break, our short-break care offers peace of mind that a loved one will be comfortable, safe and well looked-after, 24 hours a day.

We welcome anyone who has served in the UK Armed Forces, including Reservists and those who completed National Service – and their partners.

Care that means you’re one of the family

We want residents to feel totally at home and that’s why they receive the same warm and personal care whether they are having a short break or with us for longer.

The Home is generously staffed to ensure that residents receive the very best care. The Care Team work alongside residents at their pace, to promote independence and dignity. Relatives can be reassured that their loved ones are well cared for around the clock.

What does the Home in Surbiton offer?

Every aspect of the Home has been considered from the residents’ perspective to offer independence, dignity and choice.

The environment is homely and informal, with spacious lounges for socialising and comfortable nooks to create more intimate spaces to chat or read. Spacious bed-sitting rooms are fully equipped to meet care needs.

What do residents do day-to-day?

Staff ensure that everyone feels valued. Our dedicated Wellbeing Team supports residents in spending their days as they wish. With a wide range of activities, outings and exercise seven days a week, there’s something for everyone.

Mealtimes offer the opportunity to enjoy good company over delicious, home-cooked dishes. It really is a great way to make new friends and have new experiences.

Our mum used your respite service and was met with warmth and compassion. Her room was clean, inviting and had a beautiful view of the garden. She thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities and events organised and said "I was kept very busy." She loved her meal times and particularly enjoyed sitting with other residents who shared similar interests. The staff were thorough, communication was excellent throughout her stay. She was treated with dignity, compassion and care and we could tell when we picked her up that she had really bonded with the staff. We would definitely use the service again. A big thank you!”
