Raffle terms & conditions

Participation in the raffle costs £1 per ticket.

 

The Woods Group Limited operate as an External Lottery Manager on behalf of Royal Star & Garter. It is a limited company and a licensed External Lottery Manager pursuant to the Gambling Act 2005.

 

It is illegal for anyone under 16 to enter this Raffle.

 

Any person who has entered the Royal Star & Garter raffle who is under 16 years old will automatically forfeit any prize and will be excluded from future entries. If a child under 16 years old is found to have participated in a lottery after the lottery draw has taken place, then a full refund will be made to that person and any prizes that might otherwise have been due to them will not be paid out. If prizes have already been paid out, all reasonable attempts will be made to recover them.

 

This Raffle is open to residents of mainland Great Britain (this excludes Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands).

 

The Royal Star & Garter Homes staff, Governors and their families are excluded from playing all The Royal Star & Garter Homes raffles and lotteries, including The Royal Star & Garter Homes Spring 2019 Raffle. Volunteers may participate in raffles and lotteries unless they are involved in the administration of that raffle/lottery in which they must be excluded. This applies to the volunteer’s immediate family. Woods Response Services employees are excluded from playing The Royal Star & Garter Homes Spring 2019 Raffle

 

No tickets are to be sold to or by any person in a street.

 

Monies raised by this Lottery will support the general work of Royal Star & Garter, Registered Charity Number 210119.

 

Participation in the Raffle can be made by returning ticket stubs in the post with appropriate payment (cheque payable to The Royal Star & Garter Homes or credit/debit card details) or through this website with payment by credit or debit card where you will be advised of new ticket numbers. Please return any unsold tickets. No acknowledgements will be issued.

 

All tickets will be entered into the draw when the whole payment is received.

 

Royal Star & Garter accepts no responsibility for tickets which are lost, damaged, delayed due to post, illegible or from which the prize-winner cannot be identified. Also for any technical failure or event which may cause the competition to be disrupted or corrupted, or for late bank payments.

 

Any ticket entries received after 11.59pm on the closing date stated on the ticket will miss entry into the draw and therefore will be considered as a donation to Royal Star & Garter.

 

The raffle draw will take place on the draw date stated on the ticket. Where the draw date falls on a bank holiday the draw will take place the following working day.

 

Eight chances will be drawn randomly.

 

The first ticket drawn will win £4,000.

The second ticket drawn will receive £1,000.

The next six ticket drawn will receive £250 each.

 

We sometimes offer the opportunity of entry into a Bonus Draw, whereby if all Raffle tickets received are bought or sold, you are entered into a Bonus Draw.

 

The result of the Raffle Draw is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

 

Winners will be notified by post no later than two weeks after the draw date. Please keep the ticket or allocated number as proof of purchase.

 

Where Royal Star & Garter is unable to contact a prize-winner so that a prize remains unclaimed for six months following Royal Star & Garter first attempt to notify the prize-winner, Royal Star & Garter may apply the prize as it sees fit, including re-offering the prize in future Raffles.

 

All winners are required to co-operate with Royal Star & Garter’s right to publish their win as and where deemed appropriate, and to provide proof of age when requested and the winner’s photograph may be required for future publications.

Complaints will be handled in line with our complaints procedure found at https://starandgarter.org/complaints/fundraising-complaints/

 

In the event of an error, howsoever caused, whether a printing error or otherwise and whether obvious or otherwise, which affects the competition in any way, the organisers reserve the right to administer the Raffle as though the error had not occurred. Where the organisers deem it appropriate and/or feasible Royal Star & Garter will notify entrants of the error.

Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in the disqualification of the entry. Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entry at their absolute discretion.
