As you step inside a Royal Star & Garter building, you immediately feel a warm welcome. it was that exact feeling, almost four years ago, when I knew I wanted to become part of the Community Team and join the Royal Star & Garter family.
Our community fundraising is fun and flexible – no two days are the same and we foster great partnerships with the different communities that fundraise for us.
In my role as Senior Community Fundraiser, I support those who work or perhaps live near our Homes or have an interest in what we do. This includes organisations and local trusts and foundations. I get to talk to lots of people which I really enjoy.
As Community Coordinator you will work alongside military organisations, membership and hobby groups, schools and many more supporters. You will support and encourage individuals taking on challenges or other activities like Facebook fundraising and work with a variety of people and groups to create connections with our three Homes. It’s also the perfect time to join our team as we prepare for our annual Starlight event which happens at Christmastime to celebrate current and past residents and loved ones.
If I could sum up community fundraising at Royal Star & Garter in one word it would be ‘together’. We are a friendly team and we come together with our fundraisers to help them reach their goals and collectively make a difference to the veterans we care for.
