Following our recent merger with the Armed Forces charity Care for Veterans in Worthing, we’re looking for a Laundry Assistant (Bank).
The Laundry Assistant ensures that a complete service for the laundering of linens, towels and resident clothing is provided in a timely and effective manner, serving clinical and personal needs simultaneously
In this role you will assist and fill the steamer tank to correct levels and maintain at the correct temperature for effective use, collect dirty laundry from pick-up points around the Home observing health and safety rules, launder it effectively and return it to the correct place in time for clinical use and for residents to wear.
We are looking for someone with good communication skills with a wide variety of residents, relatives, ward staff and Support Services colleagues. You must demonstrate empathy towards the needs of others; promotes a positive approach to the care of people with a neuro/physical-disability. You must be professional – remaining calm under pressure; preserve resident and Home confidentiality; display a positive view of individuals’ unique needs and abilities.
