Mrs Irene Starkey

Irene was a long standing supporter of Royal Star and Garter. Her father served in World War 1 in the Machine Gun Corps and she respected and valued the service of military veterans.
She was born and brought up in Runcorn, Cheshire. She spent her career as a primary school teacher and was very active as a volunteer in her local community including reading for the local talking newspaper until she was 90 years old, her energy was boundless.
She died in 2021 aged 94.
