Mr Edward (Ted) Brown

20 June 1927 - 30 May 2020

Ted was born in East Harptree, Somerset where he spent most of his youth.

He joined the Royal Engineers at the end of the Second World War and served in Palestine, Burma and Malaya as it was then.

On leaving the army he met and married Biddie and they had a son and a daughter.

He had numerous jobs but the main one after the army was driving HGV lorries. He also joined the Buffs in 1952. He always felt the need to help others that were less fortunate or had fallen on hard times.

His favourite pastime was angling. He used his hobby to help the Royal Star and Garter by running annual fishing competitions and raffles with all proceeds being donated to the charity. He did this for a number of years until Alzheimer’s made it impossible for him to carry on doing the things he loved.

But he was the first to say that he had had a good life, had travelled and seen the world, had a loving wife and family, time for his hobbies and holidays,he wouldn’t change any of it.

Rest in Peace dad, gone but not forgotten.
