Mr Anthony James Allan Gillan OBE

Allan was a lifelong supporter of The Royal Star & Garter Homes. His presence at fundraising events was deeply appreciated, including running the Star & Garter stand at the Chelsea Flower Show for many years.
In 1990, Allan accompanied our resident Charlie Hankins on his remarkable Land’s End to John O Groats wheelchair marathon. He also supported numerous fundraising events for the Charity, including the 1992 Cockney Canyon Expedition – with a team from the Royal Logistics Corps around the Grand Canyon – and several Finland Cadet expeditions. Allan generously spent a lot of time filming residents’ activities both at the Richmond Home and on trips out, as well as fundraising events.
Allan was an ex-Serviceman himself having served in the RAF, and we are proud to remember his kind fundraising efforts for our disabled ex-Service residents.
