Captain Gary Wayne Anglin
Resident of The Royal Star & Garter Homes, 2015
Captain Gary Anglin was a much-loved resident at The Royal Star & Garter Homes. With a military career encompassing 40 years in the Armed Forces, enlisting as a Private in 1972 and retiring as a Captain, his dedicated service has been recognised with numerous awards. This included The Chief of the General Staff’s Commendation for outstanding service to the British Army. Gary was also passionately committed to charity work and was an enthusiastic fundraiser for ‘The London Welfare and Benevolent Fund’.
Gary joined our Surbiton Home in 2015, having been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour and in need of full time nursing care. Although Gary was with us for a short time, The Royal Star & Garter Homes is proud to have been able to support him with our specialist care. We were also very touched to share Gary’s story on our website with a wonderful Father’s Day tribute from his daughter Marsha.
Gary will be much missed by his loving family and friends. You may like to visit the lovely tribute created by his family: http://gary.anglin.muchloved.com/
