Royal Star & Garter and the UK outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19)
As the global situation with COVID-19 progresses, we remain committed to ensuring that any potential infection in our Homes is minimised.
We have consistently pursued a prevention approach, working actively to restrict the virus entering any of our Homes. To date this has been successful, but we must maintain our strict infection control protocols.
While the entire country finds itself under isolation rules, our vital care provision to veterans and their partners must continue. We have kept visitor restrictions to our Homes in place apart from any essential health professionals. We have also suspended our Day Care services in Solihull and High Wycombe and all our office staff are now home working.
Our dedicated teams in all our Homes are following strict hygiene protocols and we are running regular checks on the status of their own health. As much as possible we are maintaining a normal environment within our Homes to lessen the impact on our residents. Although we have no visitors and no excursions out, we have continued with a programme of activity that is helping to retain a positive atmosphere.
We recognise the immense challenge faced by all care providers and the amazing individuals working in, and alongside, the NHS. We continue to dedicate our efforts to keeping our residents and our care staff safe and well. We would like to thank everyone for your understanding and support.
Our priority is protecting the residents we care for.
We are extremely grateful for your support and understanding.
