Royal Star & Garter and the UK outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As normal day to day life resumes and national restrictions are lifted, we continue to navigate the changing environment carefully. Our vital care for veterans and their partners has continued throughout these unprecedented times, and we remain as committed as ever to ensuring that the risk of infection within our Homes is minimised. We meet, or exceed, all national guidance and our staff continue to show extraordinary courage and skill in their work.

We have been committed to supporting safe visiting in all our Homes and we are  open for designated visitors to safely see their loved ones inside our buildings, outside when weather permits and, if required, using our Covid-secure meeting rooms. Visiting still requires the use of lateral flow tests and appropriate PPE.  We are also managing some outdoor trips and visits for residents to enjoy, ensuring they are carefully managed and risk assessed.

We remain committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our residents and all have now received their vaccinations, with nearly 95% of staff also receiving both of theirs.  Even with these high vaccination rates, we remain committed to the foundations of our infection control principles and hand hygiene, correct use of PPE and social distancing remain in place.

We would like to thank friends and relatives as well as our partners, funders, suppliers and members of the local communities around each of our Homes for supporting us. We are truly grateful to you all.

Our priority is protecting the residents we care for.
We are extremely grateful for your support and understanding.
