Royal Star & Garter and the UK outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As we all navigate carefully towards the further easing of restrictions on 21 July, our vital care for veterans and their partners continues. We remain as committed as ever to ensuring that the risk of any infection within our Homes is minimised. We are meeting, or exceeding, all national guidance and our staff have shown extraordinary courage and skill in their work.

We have remained committed to enabling safe visiting in our Homes and we are now open for designated visitors to safely see their loved ones in their own rooms. Alongside this visits using our purpose built Covid-secure meeting rooms also continue for other family members or for those people who feel safer using them.

All visiting is in line with national guidance and family members are supported fully in the use of lateral flow tests and appropriate PPE.

We remain committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our residents. To this end we have ensured that all residents have received their first dose of a vaccine and to date 90% of our frontline staff have received theirs. Even with these high vaccination rates, we remain committed to the fundamentals of infection control principles and are consistently reinforcing the importance of hand hygiene, correct use of PPE and social distancing.

We would like to thank our partners, funders, suppliers and members of the local communities around each of our Homes who have supported us throughout the pandemic. We are truly grateful to you all.

Our priority is protecting the residents we care for.
We are extremely grateful for your support and understanding.
