Caring for our residents

We are a charity founded in the middle of a past national crisis whose core values are built around delivering care with courage.

Here at Royal Star & Garter the incredible work of our dedicated teams has helped to minimise the impact of COVID-19 on our staff and the residents they care for.

However, we cannot be complacent. We will continue to meet this head on – placing our residents at the heart of everything we do.

Why we need support

We are facing significant additional costs to meet the fight against COVID-19. Our staffing levels have increased to maintain our exceptional levels of care and in just two months we have already spent over £100,000 on personal protective equipment (PPE) and new technology.

At the same time we are seeing a reduction in our income and significant challenges around the delivery of our services.

This is still far from over and we have a long road ahead before we can return to any form of normal life. Despite this our commitment and courage to do everything we can to keep our staff and residents safe remains absolute.

We know that times are tough for everyone but if you are able to consider a gift to support our work, no matter how small, it would be greatly appreciated.

We are doing everything we can to safely connect residents with their families and are bringing in more technology to support this.

They have been enjoying hearing from children in the local community as part of our Letters with Love campaign and are taking part in innovative activities like virtual bingo!
