The impact of Gifts in Wills

Gifts in Wills allow to help us care for veterans and their partners, both now and for generations to come.

All gifts left to Royal Star & Garter, large or small, make an enormous difference to the care we are able to provide, and enable us to plan for the future. We want to help as many people as possible, expanding our services in our Homes and the local community.

Here’s how a gift in your Will could help:

Help us to run our state-of-the-art Homes for veterans and their partners living with dementia or disability

When care at home is no longer possible, our specialist nursing and award-winning long-term or short-break care is offered with compassion and friendship, 24 hours a day. For those who can still live at home, we offer Lunch Clubs and Day Care. Legacies help us to continually improve our Homes for the benefit of all the veterans and their partners we care for.

Develop our sensory gardens and outdoor spaces

Everyone in our Homes is encouraged to use the outdoor spaces as their own gardens and to spend time in them whenever possible. There are special terraces for residents living with dementia, offering plenty of shade and sheltered, comfy seating just outside their familiar living areas. Gifts in Wills enable us to develop and maintain these areas for all to enjoy.

Fund vital Wellbeing sessions

We provide those in our care with a varied programme of daily activities. We recognise that having a sense of purpose is vital to a person’s wellbeing and that also ensures everyone feels valued. There’s always fun and laughter as old hobbies are rekindled, and new skills and activities are supported.

Investment in specialist equipment & physiotherapy

Incorporated in each resident’s ongoing personal care plan are in-house therapies, including physio  to address mobility needs and specialist support with communication or eating difficulties. Gifts in Wills ensure that everyone receives the care they need.

Your gift

Your gift could help provide everything from specialist nursing care, sensory gardens and outdoor spaces for socialising, medical equipment, and specially adapted vehicles for outings that help enhance our residents’ quality of life.

There are many reasons people choose to leave us a gift; some are long term supporters with a connection to the military; some are past residents or have family members who have lived with us, whilst others are completely unknown to us.

Regardless of their reasons, every gift is greatly appreciated and vital to helping veterans and their partners live happy, comfortable and independent lives.
