Jeremy has been a volunteer with The Royal Star & Garter Homes for over two years.
His journey with us began when he offered his help as he wanted to give something back to ex-service personnel having retired from the Army in 2008.
For Jeremy, a keen conservationist, an area he is particularly interested in is promoting wildlife and the garden areas.
His favourite plants are the flowering apple tree blossom and the white fragrant jasmine – both sensory, scented plants that help residents find comfort and stimulation.
The rewards from planting a new terrace garden with the residents have been huge... My goal for the internal terrace garden was to have mainly edible or sensory plants, to help those living with dementia, with some bright ornamental flowering plants. I have plans for the main garden too!
